Drink Being independent from any brewery, we stock a huge range of products - far more than the average pub. We aim to be THE BEST in every product category - real ales, lagers (or 'world beers'), ciders, vodkas, etc. We are recognised as real ale experts and we have a huge range of real ales in each outlet. We have been in the market since 1980 and have, in the past (under our previous name of 'Legendary Yorkshire Heroes'), operated a chain of 5 real ale off licences, a real ale wholesale business and a chain of 18 real ale pubs. We deal almost exclusively with real ales from small independent micro and family breweries, rather than the national brewers. We have a few regular beers and many, many guests. We are regarded by many as the best real ale pubs in the area, for quality, variety, and rarity of ales on offer. Our biggest suppliers are Black Sheep, Bradfield, Coach House, Consett, Cumberland, Harviestoun, Mordue, Ossett, Phoenix, Samuel Smiths, Summer Wine, and Wylam. Please see individual outlets' Drinks page for availability Lagers (World beers) We always have the largest range of draught lagers (or quality world beers) in town! In our various pubs, we sell Budweiser Budvar, Staropramen and Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic, Peroni from Italy, Kronenbourg originally from France, Stella Artois originally from Belgium, San Miguel from Spain, Lindeboom from Holland, and Erdinger Weiss German wheat beer. We sell rare draught Belgian beers - with Liefmans Kriek (Cherry beer) and Timmermans Strawberry beer being particularly popular. Our outlets also stock a large range of bottled lagers and world beers; interestingly, our biggest-selling lines are the quality beers like Budweiser Budvar, Warsteiner and Corona, rather than the bland products usually available in British pubs. Stout We stock Guinness everywhere and are glad that it is now Dublin-brewed! We still have the reputation of selling the best Guinness around. Ciders Our main draught ciders come from Westons of Much Marcle in deepest Herefordshire. They produce a wide range of draught and bottled ciders and perrys (pear cider) the traditional way. Our biggest-selling draught natural Westons ciders are the award-winning 'Old Rosie' (abv. 7.3%, so watch out!) and Special Vintage (abv. 7.3%). We also sell Westons keg cider, 'Stowford Press', and introduced Briska (a Swedish pear cider) in 2011. We also have real cider and perry festivals held in all of our outlets (the most regular of these being out October CiderFest which is held to celebrate CAMRAs October cider month). Wines and Spirits Our wine portfolio has been carefully selected to ensure we have a broad range of wines available, from some of the best vineyards in the world! Working in conjunction with Bibendum, we have created a great wine list, with all bottles available in all of our outlets. Everything is available to take home by the case too - prices available on request at the bar! As well as regular spirits, we offer a large range of the most popular types - particularly vodkas and rums. Some of our outlets stock various types of vodka from eastern Europe and many rums, from the Caribbean. Soft Drinks Soft drinks are really important in a pub but are often ignored by retailers, who assume offering tonic and orange is good enough. Well, it isn't! As well as the regular softs you would expect, we stock a large range of excellent fruit juices called 'Looza' from Belgium, with lovely flavours like pear, banana, apricot, red grape, mango, and peach. We have now expanded our range by offering Frobishers juices (in flavours such as passion fruit and bumbleberry), and we stock Fentimens quality botanically brewed drinks (the most popular of these being ginger beer and curiosity cola). Our water is the best - Harrogate Spa from Yorkshire, which has established itself as one of the top 10 bottled water brands in the UK. For drivers, we have Bitburger 'Drive', Erdinger Alkoholfrei or Becks non-alcoholic; properly-brewed non-alcoholic lagers from Germany that tastes really good (unlike some!).
